Janelle has a certain larger than life, almost celebrity, quality to her, and that makes her a joy to photograph. She’s not just pretty, she’s interesting. You don’t just want the clothes or accessories that’s she’s wearing, you want to buy into the entire lifestyle that she’s apart of; and the fact that she really skis* these slopes and climbs these mountains —even when there’s no camera around to capture her doing it— lends an authenticity to these photographs that I feel is impossible to replicate.

*Janelle would probably kill me if I didn’t clarify that today she’s almost always on a snowboard, not skis. Just so we’re clear! Lol
